Edi Tchakoma
Founder & Executive DirectorEdi leads HDF Malawi with lived experience and a deep commitment to supporting vulnerable communities. Having experienced displacement firsthand, he built this organisation from the ground up to create the kind of support he once needed.
He oversees overall strategy, international operations, and programme development across both Malawi and British Columbia, Canada — ensuring every initiative remains accountable, community-driven, and impactful.
Our voluntary Board of Directors provides strategic oversight, financial accountability, and governance leadership — serving without personal financial benefit, registered with BC Registries under Society No. S0085174.
Luke supports global expansion and partnership development — strengthening international collaborations and strategic growth that expands HDF’s reach across borders.
Emelia provides leadership and governance oversight to ensure the organisation remains aligned with its mission, values, and commitment to community development.
Zacharie supports organisational governance and programme oversight, ensuring programmes remain community-focused, effective, and aligned with donor expectations.
Vanessa is responsible for financial oversight and accountability — ensuring all donations are managed responsibly, transparently, and in full alignment with programme needs.
Chiedza leads grant development, fundraising strategy, and financial planning — securing funding and aligning resources with the organisation’s programme impact goals.
Shadrack contributes field expertise and community knowledge, providing governance input that keeps programmes grounded in local reality and responsive to community needs.
Our operational leaders manage day-to-day programme execution — coordinating field teams across Malawi and British Columbia with accountability at every step.
Juvenile oversees all operational functions — managing field teams, coordinating programme delivery, and ensuring day-to-day operations run effectively across both countries.
Matondo manages recruitment, staff welfare, and HR policies — ensuring the organisation attracts and retains dedicated team members who share our mission and values.
Skasabwa manages programme planning, monitoring, and evaluation — ensuring every initiative delivers measurable outcomes and meets the needs of beneficiary communities.
Our facilitators work directly with communities, youth, and families in Malawi and Canada — translating our mission into real, measurable change on the ground every day.
Aphonsine manages day-to-day programme implementation — ensuring projects are delivered effectively and participants receive consistent, high-quality support on the ground.
Jimmy oversees project execution, timelines, and field reporting — keeping all programme activities on track and aligned with donor commitments and community needs.
Works directly with local communities, supporting education programmes and outreach initiatives that strengthen families and build lasting community resilience.
